1. What role have computers played in your life until now? How do they help and hinder you?

Computers have generally played a pretty big part in my life. Until about two weeks ago, when my laptop screen broke, my computer was almost always near me, ready to help me answer whatever question was on my mind. Computers have been a tremendous help in most aspects of my life. From researching for papers to just learning new things, computers have been a great help. I think they really only hinder in that I’ve become a little too dependent upon them for doing general tasks.
2. How competent do you feel you are with word processors like Word Perfect or MS Word?

I feel generally pretty competent with them. I won’t say I’m an expert, but I know how to use them.

3. A couple of paragraphs talking about your past experiences with technology, how strong you feel you are with technology, and a description of one very positive or negative experience you have had using technology. By technology, it can mean using the web, using particular programs, or a piece of hardware like an mp3 player.

I feel pretty strong when I’m dealing with technology. I tend to be able to learn new things quickly when I’m dealing with technology. I’m not going to say I’m a master with all programs, but I will say I feel generally confident when on a computer.

I think my best experience with technology was when I discovered wikipedia. Ever since then I’ve used it to search countless topics and learn new things. I know it’s not always the most trustworthy source, but it’s nice to haveĀ  somewhere to go when I’m wondering who the main character was in some 80’s cartoon show late at night.

1. What did you learn from each activity we did in class?

I learned how to set up a free blog. Probably could’ve figured that one out myself, but it’s always nice t have help.
2. What would you like to learn that you didn’t?

I can’t really think of anything at the moment. Consider me intellectually satisfied.

3. How could this have been done differently?

I suppose we could’ve used webCT or Blackboard instead of Moodle, or a different blog service instead of Word Press.

4. Who did you meet?
5. Who is in your first group?
